City not Nassr! Why Cristiano Ronaldo will forever regret not joining Manchester City

21 goals in 16 game, Erling Haaland is banging in the goals from all corners and breaking old records. But come to think of it, that could've been Cristiano Ronaldo. The striker Pep Guardiola really wanted to lead his attacking lines two seasons ago.

Guardiola knows Ronaldo's prowess in front of goal and felt his phenomenal abilities will suit Manchester City perfectly.

Ronaldo won't have to press form the front, join the team in counter press or even drop deep like Firmino's or Harry Kane's to orchestrate the tempo of the game from the middle.

All he had to do was stay upfront and finish off the move.

De Bruyne, Mahrez, Silva, Grealish, Foden's and other creative players will find him with killer passes to score. He would've been contesting for the Ballon d'Or and not giving out endlessly interviews.

But to choose to call Sir Alex Ferguson who will certainly say no! Ronaldo ended what would've an era defining career. All he had to do was shut up, travel to City, sign the contract, apologies to United or whoever- score the goals, win the trophies.

That positive vibe of scoring goals and winning trophies could've played a huge part in Qatar. Portugal and not Argentina might have been champions.

But deciding to ditch an exceptional team in City for United caused him everything. Today, some Manchester United fans don't even consider him a legend after the Piers Morgan bombshell.

Ronaldo left Europe with his tails between his knees. A reject who couldn't get into a Champions League team despite accepting to lower his wages.

Joining Al Nassr is good for him on a personal level. It will rekindle his joy in the game, get back into the shape and off course, pay him big bucks.

Hopefully, a fit and firing Cristiano Ronaldo will help to get the attention of Europe's Champions League club next season.

A Better Nigeria: What the Government must do to end food crises

What is wrong with Nigeria and its people? A sane question most people have asked for decades but little have figured out the problems. Those who have the amicable solution and well placed in positions to truly effect change are either been rigged out, threatened or even killed.   Tragic you would say, but there's more to the complex web of Nigeria's challenges and food crises is one of them which the incumbent president must deal with immediately.  Before taking over the mantle of leadership, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a series of promises and swiftly took action by removing fuel subsidy in his first day in office. Taking that action was bold and cold because no alternative was given.  The effect was an immediate increase in fuel which resulted in an increase in the cost of transportation of both perishable and imperishable goods. Businesses which where reliant on generators for power packed up while well established businesses were forced to retrench workers or pa...

Fighting corruption: Why Nigeria must introduce death sentence for all corrupt office holders?

According to Section 33 of the Nigerian constitution, capital crimes include those relating to terrorism, third-degree murder, rape, robbery, kidnapping, sodomy, homosexuality, blasphemy, adultery, incest, helping someone who is legally incapable of consenting to suicide, perjury, and military mutiny. The following crimes are eligible for the death penalty, yet none of them address the main problem impeding Nigeria's advancement and development. The country possesses both human and material resources to rival any nation in the world but yet, the nation swallows in abject poverty; malnutrition, illiteracy, delipidated or broken-down infrastructure, communal wars, gang related violence, banditry, terrorism, and worst of all, spread of infectious disease in both rural an urban area.  Like many other countries, Cameroon has expressed its concerns about the grave extent of bribery and corruption in all spheres of the national economy and the damage it is bringing to the future of its ci...

3 reasons why Xabi Alonso should join Liverpool and not Bayern Munich

After spending just eighteen months at Bayern Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is an excellent manager who can assemble a top-tier squad on a shoestring. Leverkusen are close to becoming the first team in Bundesliga history to win the title without losing a single match.  To put it plainly, Alonso had to develop a world class team capable of preventing Bayern Munich from setting a record with 13 straight league titles. Disrupting the balance has alerted Europe's biggest clubs like Liverpool and Bayern Munich who are now want him.  With Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel expected to leave Liverpool and Bayern Munich respectively, Xabi Alonso have now become the ideal manager to replace one of them.  Alonso will likely be leaving Bayern Munich and he carefully analyzed both clubs and decide for himself which of the two can really give the time, resources, club and fan support.  Here are the 3 reasons why he should choose Liverpool: ...
